MEDA
was founded in 1989 as a Media Training Department in
Arascope. In 2003, Arascope Professional Media Production
Company, began to expand its media training activities,
and established the Media Education and Development
Academy "MEDA", the second pillar of Arascope, as a separate entity has
its own governance and budget, in order to meet the
increasing needs for professionally trained staff in
the field of audio-visual media. MEDA subsequently developed
into a full-fledged Academy with three major training
units in the fields of Audio Engineering, Video production
and 3D Animation. MEDA has developed an exceptional
reputation for its capacity to enhance its courses that
include the needed academic information with hands-on
practical exercises and applications. The advantage
of being a media training academy, that is resident
within a professional Media Production Company "Arascope",
is to give MEDA's trainees the opportunity to be trained
and work within a real media professional context.
MEDA, the Media Training Division of Arascope, has a unique strategy because of the following:
MEDA seeks to equip people to help change and shape their communities. This strategy involves giving people the knowledge, skills and opportunity to produce programs that are addressed to the needs of their societies.
MEDA supports and emphasizes the need for communications and media education in the development process.
MEDA provides state-of-the-art digital and analog video/audio studios with the latest equipment, ensuring the best possible hands-on technical training.
MEDA is a pioneer in the Middle East in training new generations of artists, technicians and writers to produce quality programming with a message.
MEDA conducts seminars, workshops, and camps to train groups and communities in how to use media to effectively communicate a message. MEDA works with communities, social groups and those from governmental and non-governmental organizations, and helping MADEV (Media-Arts for Development), the third pillar of Arascope, in developing educational kits, to facilitate the use of Arascope’s media productions that include educational and developmental messages, for social and societal development.
