Course Description:
This Course goes beyond the basics and it is divided into three major parts. The
first part introduces audio recording, tape editing, sound mixing, selection and
mixing of music, and special effects of audio production. In the second part,
trainees apply their knowledge of audio in a variety of recording settings. They
assume responsibility for the administration of the recording studio, including
the maintenance, scheduling, and operation of the audio facility.
In the third part of the course, trainees will explore the advanced audio techniques
as they relate to video and film production. This part focuses on uses of sound
in video and film production, and audio mixing for visual media. Trainees will
work with advanced video/film students on projects.
Main Goal of the Course:
This course is designed to help the participants to develop better understanding
of recording technology, to understand the differences between consumer and professional
audio, and to apply the acquired knowledge and techniques in producing a professional
quality project.
Pre-requisites:
Finishing the Basic Audio Course, and the ProTools Production Essentials course
with MEDA, or permission of the instructor.
